It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our colleague and friend, Jan Bacchi. Jan was our most tenured team member, joining First Federal of Bucks County (now Penn Community Bank) in 1971. Over the next 54 years, Jan distinguished herself in a variety of roles, most recently as Senior Underwriter in our Residential and Consumer Lending department.
As an underwriting professional, Jan brought exceptional expertise in credit policy, procedure, and loan structure. As a community banker, she was recognized for her empathy, creativity, and dedication to finding appropriate solutions that supported our customers’ financial well-being. As a team member, she was a trusted mentor, whispering advice and thoughtful counsel to all who sought it. As a person, we saw that Jan’s true passion was her family, of whom she was so very proud.
Jan’s record of service and loyalty to Penn Community, covering those 54 years, is a mark that’s likely to stand forever.
Those who had the pleasure of interacting with Jan recognize, however, that her impact cannot be measured in years of service, or even in the hundreds of millions of loan dollars underwritten with quality and excellence. We know that Jan’s legacy is best measured by the personal relationships established and maintained with hundreds of Penn Community employees and alumni, spanning generations.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Jan’s daughter Janine, her husband Matt, their three children, and to all of Jan’s family and friends. Her presence will be deeply missed, and her time with us will be long remembered.
