Penn Community Bank Team Members Walk from Quakertown to Hilltown Twp. to Support YMCA of Bucks County

Chief Relationship Officer Todd R. Hurley and Market Manager Sara Friedman joined YMCA leaders in ‘Zane Walks for Bucks’ to highlight impact of local Y

PERKASIE, Pa. (May 13, 2019): Penn Community Bank Chief Relationship Officer Todd R. Hurley and Quakertown-area Market Manager Sara Friedman recently walked from Quakertown to Hilltown Township as part of the 2019 “Zane Walks for Bucks,” an annual trek across Bucks County to highlight the impact of the YMCA.

YMCA of Bucks County President and CEO Zane Moore walked across the county to celebrate the Y’s work improving the lives of more than 60,000 people each year. Over the course of two days, Moore and Y supporters walked from the Y location in Quakertown to the Y location in Doylestown, then to the Y in Newtown and finishing up at the Y in Fairless Hills. Penn Community Bank opened up its branches along the route to serve as rest stations for the walkers on their 50-mile journey from one end of the county to the other.

“As one, county-wide organization, YMCA of Bucks County is changing the lives of people from Quakertown to Fairless Hills,” said Hurley. “I am proud to help lead the Y as we fully unify our operations and our programs, which help children, seniors, cancer survivors, young families, and so many more.”

Both Hurley and Friedman serve on the Y’s volunteer boards. As Chief Volunteer Officer, Hurley leads the advisory board for the Lower Bucks County footprint of the YMCA and represents the Lower Bucks region on the Y’s county-wide association board. Friedman serves as Secretary of the Upper Bucks Regional Advisory Board and represents the Upper Bucks region on the county-wide association board. The new oversight structure is the result of the recent merger of the Upper Bucks, Central Bucks, and Lower Bucks YMCAs to create YMCA of Bucks County.

“The unification of the three Y entities into one created a stronger organization with even more resources to dedicate to serving all of Bucks County,” said Moore. “This walk across the entire county symbolizes our commitment to ensure that all residents of Bucks County live healthy, supported lives and know that the Y will always be an accessible and inspiring place to be.”

YMCA of Bucks County is a charitable, nonprofit organization committed to strengthening local communities through membership and programs that foster youth development, healthy living and social responsibility for all. To learn more, visit ymcabucks.org.
